About Deb Torchia

After a successful career as a corporate executive and change management consultant, I made the decision to pursue work that supports people in a more personal and meaningful way. Years spent leading teams, navigating high-pressure environments, and helping organizations through challenging transitions gave me firsthand insight into the effects of chronic stress, burnout, and the importance of true well-being.

Today, as a certified sound therapist, I combine a grounded, professional approach with the restorative power of sound to create experiences that help participants relax, reconnect, and restore balance. Through carefully guided sound bath sessions, I offer a calming space where individuals can step away from the demands of everyday life and cultivate greater clarity, resilience, and inner peace.

Wellness springs from wisdom

I believe healing begins when we create space to listen—not only to the sounds around us, but also to ourselves.

Sound therapy benefits anyone seeking practical ways to manage stress while enhancing overall wellness. Whether you're looking to unwind, support your personal wellness journey, or simply experience the transformative effects of sound, my goal is to help you leave each session feeling more centered, refreshed, and connected to yourself.

About sound therapy

Sound healing dates back thousands of years, with roots in ancient Tibetan and Native American cultures. The combination of ancient wisdom with modern wellness practices makes sound therapy particularly attractive for those looking for non-invasive, effective ways to reduce stress and improve well-being.

By using tools like singing bowls, drums, gongs, chimes and other instruments in a specific way, sound therapy produces vibrations that resonate with different parts of the body.

Benefits to Body and Brain

Brainwave Entrainment: Sound therapy uses rhythmic sounds to help synchronize brainwaves, promoting alpha and theta brainwave states, which are associated with relaxation and meditation.

Nervous System Shift: Sound therapy shifts your body from a stressed “fight-flight” state to a calm “rest and digest” state by using specific sound vibrations to stimulate the vagus nerve. This nerve tells your brain to slow your heart rate, lower your blood pressure, and relax your muscles.

Cellular Vibration: Because our bodies are mostly water, they are great conductors of vibration. Every part of the human body vibrates at specific frequencies. When these frequencies fall out of balance due to stress, illness, or emotional turmoil, sound therapy aims to restore harmony and balance by using resonant frequencies. These sound waves pass through your body, helping to loosen up tense areas and restore a smooth flow of energy.

MY PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION

I received my professional training and certification from the Sound Healing Academy. Their Integral Sound Healing Method blends ancient healing techniques of sound therapy with the modern science data that explains its role in our holistic well-being.

What I hear from others…

I loved the pacing and the variety of beautiful sounds coming from the various bowls, chimes, drums, and gongs. There was good flow from one kind of sound to another. Most of all I loved that I was brought to a place of deep relaxation which stayed with me, allowing me to have the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time.
